How Do You Get More Profit If You're Working Too Many Hours Already?
This is a question that comes up with my clients a lot, so what's the answer?
Firstly the mistake many business women make is they fly into business, make their products, satisfy their customers and get on with the business of running the business without having created a true plan. A genuine goal of what the businesses ultimate goal is.
Of course you have to look after your customers, and run your business. But if you took 1 step back the answer to how to make more profit could be yours. I've helped business women work less hours and increase their profits. Before they even looked at new ways to make even more profit!
And to do that you then have to answer the question.
WHAT DO I WANT TO EARN?
Too many business women never answer that question.
So do it now.
As I like to say you wouldn't go and visit my best mate in Scotland without finding out the address at the very least would you? To get where you want to go, you've got to plan what the ultimate goal is.
So right now don't delay on an email or a spot of social media marketing.
Answer that question now - "WHAT DO I WANT TO EARN?"
Okay so its a bigger process than just that, but that is your starting block and just look where Mo Farah got with a starting block!
I will share more on this in the coming months here and on my social media Twitter and Facebook
Can't wait that long give me a call on 07989 935556 or email me

Many business women go about increasing profit around the wrong way.
Instead of asking "How can I make more money and work less hours?" ask "How can I earn the amount I want to?"And to do that you then have to answer the question.

How To Screw Up Social Media & Lose Sales
Here is a post I wrote on my new Facebook page. Far more all about sales and marketing and rocketing your profit margins than the mindset stuff, but still a bit of that crops up as it is all so overlapping.
So if you are worried you are not getting the results from social media as part of your marketing strategy then pour a cuppa and give yourself 4 minutes to check you are not making these awful mistakes in your business.
How to Screw Up Social Media and Lose Sales
All of the mentioned screw ups have actually been wielded at me this week!
And do feel free to like and share my new face book page. I started it while watching the F1 on Sunday.

How To Sell Outside Your Comfort Zone - This Works!
Taken from The Business Womans Network blog - this was a really popular blog posts that proved really useful and powered up a lot of businesses women's sales - your turn!
Being in business allows you to push the boundaries of what
you think can be achieved. But can you honestly say you sell outside of your
comfort zone?
What could happen if you did?
Think it through....if your current marketing strategy
allows you to create your current supply of customers what could happen if you
pushed yourself outside of your comfort zone?
(Here’s a clue, it will definitely involve more time
creating invoices and less time chatting on social media !)
So How Do You Do It?
1. If
it feels big and scary....keep going. Things feel scary and out of our ability
range when we feel there is something to lose. We feel like there is a lot to
be missed out on if it goes wrong....so polarise that thought. If there is a
lot that could be lost there is just as much (if not more) that could be
gained.
2. Keep
doing what works but ask yourself what would take you so far out of your
comfort zone when it comes to selling? If you normally choose to sell over the
phone or via word of mouth, would picking up the phone panic you? Networking a
No No? Media work moves you in all the wrong ways? Do it anyway!
3. Don’t
ask Don’t get. Asking is the scary part. Men traditionally are great at closing
the deal but lack the nuances of relationship building that women do and so go
straight for the sale and risk scaring the buyer off. Women on the other hand
can be brilliant at creating great relationships but can lack the ability to
close the sale. So ask for what you want.
4. Believe
in better. If you think something is likely to go wrong, your brain will be as
considerate as possible to create as many reminders of previous failure and
plenty of hints on how to recreate it, undermining your ability to achieve. So
believe in what you do. Believe in your course of action, your ability and
visualise the end goal. That’s right, more invoices created, more money banked
and less time to play Candy Crush!

The True Power (When Things Are REALLY Tough)
Anyone can be motivated and inspired if they choose to be.
But what about when things are really tough.
I'm not talking stubbed your toe, your laptops not working kind of days, I'm talking life and death tough.
I'm talking so tough you don't know which way to turn, or what to do.
How do you get motivated then?
How can you feel the positive then?
Well I speak from a bucket of load of experience here and I'm going to share how. Because today is a proof is in the pudding kind of day.
January 14th 2011 I was happily speaking to a room full of business women (one of my favourite jobs in the WORLD!) and loving it. I then saw a client and went about my day very happy oblivious to the fact that within 24 hours I would be in bed and would stay there for pretty much 2 years!
By April 2012 I had to stop working part time (Even working part time, I had the Home Secretary phone me to be involved in their new mentoring program!) as I ended up in hospital for a 2nd time with a scary heart thing and some worried doctors.
Imagine being the kind of person that adores being around people, hearing their problems and creating the solutions, who loves being energetic and full of life. If not busy with business then playing with children and loving life to the full and imagine swapping that over night for a bed so ill you can't even hold a book and have to live off of Morphine.
At its worst in the last 2 years I was told 5 times I did and then did not have ME/CFS and a ton of other nasty diagnoses were branded around, until with the thanks of my awesome GP we found the problem and I'm getting my life back.
So how did I do it?
It comes down to faith and belief, and setting goals that were in line with me as an individual at that moment in time.
So firstly Faith.
We are not talking religion, I'm talking an absolute faith in finding a solution. I visualised every day speaking to a room full of business women again, I visualised every day getting back in to my car after seeing a client with a grin on my face because she's getting the results she wants. I would lay in bed and see it, and feel it. So when life is so tough you don't know how to go on, know this; Everything changes. Nothing stays the same. So bad can become good, awful can become awesome. Have faith in that fact.
Secondly Belief.
I always believed in me. When I couldn't even crawl up the stairs without my hubby helping, I still laughed, Why? Madness? No. An absolute belief in me. I held on to all the amazing things I'd done and achieved in my life. I leaned on the brilliance of all the people I know in the real world and my wonderful social media world. I ensured that only positive people, experiences and ideas were allowed to occupy my mind. So ensure you do this too. Think back to every moment in time when you've been amazing. Why do us women dismiss when people compliment us? Hold on to those compliments and really appreciate that they were said with truth and love for the awesome person you are.
and lastly goal setting.
This was tough, but I lay in bed one day and realised somewhere towards the end of the first year of this agonising illness that the goal of getting better was just too big. It was demotivating me, it was making me feel like a failure because so much was beyond my control. Yes by then I had accessed a plethora of specialists through my own hard work, I'd chased over a 100 appointments but it was not getting me well, just robbing me of precious energy that I could have used with my children. So I had to work out what really matters.
When things get really tough ask yourself what really matters? And for me it was simply this "Be Happy" I started every day listing 10 things I was happy and grateful for. If you have spent the day in a darkened room on Morphine unable to move, its not easy, but I found plenty. Thank you for my beautiful children sharing the day (quietly!) Thank you for my very comfy new bed, Thank you for my gorgeous hubby cooking tea, Thank you for the Tweet that made me smile, Thank you for the medicine that is taking away the pain, Thank you for water to make that lovely bath. Yes its a toughie, but being truly grateful for what you do have will spur you on - I promise!
So the true power is fully appreciated today.
Today I'm going to cycle for the 4th time in a week after 2 years of not even being on my bike. I'm going to cycle down to the road that links Mersea Island to the main land. And I'm going to watch the round the island race as the tide floods the road. I will be the one there grinning like a loon that today I'm with my children on this beautiful day surrounded by great people and still loving life and Being Happy. Now that's True Power to Be grateful for!
If you need a hand, just shout!
I'm here for you.
xx

Happy Successful You: Today I'm going to share with you a powerful tool ...
Happy Successful You: Today I'm going to share with you a powerful tool to help you achieve ANYTHING ...: Today I'm going to share with you a powerful tool to help you achieve every single goal you set in your life. And I'm sharing it ...
Today I'm going to share with you a powerful tool to help you achieve every single goal you set in your life.
And I'm sharing it completely free!(Nice of me, right?)
In most blogs I share a tit bit, a powerful idea, but today I'm going to share a powerful model that you can apply to your life, your business, even to your goals for retirement. Whatever your goal is, use this to get it easier, quicker and faster!
It will take you a little longer to read, but if you read this and take action - WOW get out of your way because success is coming!
To understand this model to help you achieve your goals faster, I need to help you understand a fundamental obstacle that many put in the way of success.
If I was to say to you "Drive to my mates house in Scotland."
Would you just jump in your car and go?
It's highly likely your answer was "no".
So ask yourself, if you were to drive to my mates house in Scotland, what would you do?
What process would you go through?
What plan of action would you create?
Let's think it through;
You would probably ensure you have the exact address.
You would ensure your car is full of fuel. That you had your phone, maybe a map, a sat nav, some food, some money, your credit card. You might take the phone number of my mate as well.
You may have even looked it up before you left on Google Maps to check that you knew the best route, how long it was going to take, were there any tolls, etc etc.
You see to get to a destination you put a number of actions in place. The more thoughtfully you approach that process, the more you think through the possible steps to success, the more aware of the pitfalls and problems that could present themselves. The more likely you are to achieve success. Right?
So why is it when you decide you want to gain an extra 25% in sales, Lose a stone, Make a million, or become the most successful business woman in the world you do not apply the same process?
Whatever your goal is. Be it a small goal, your life time ambition, or just a need to make a few extra sales this week. I want you to use this powerful model to power up the results. Because I promise you if you do apply it, like my clients you will get better sustainable results easier and faster. And how good would it feel to get what you want? The Model For Goal Success
- Write down what your goal is. Writing your goal down is a very powerful action to take for many reasons. (I will share those reasons another day as I want you to get on with powering up your goal success rate.)
- Ask yourself this very important question. This is an essential step. Ask yourself. "Do I really want this?" Goals fail to reach fruition when we are not truly passionate about why we want it. You must have an all consuming passion to want this!
- Read the goal back to yourself and think it through in every way as if you have achieved it. Doing this allows your brain to think what it would really feel like. How would you be feeling? What hours would you be working? How do you look? Are you smiling? Are you punching the air shouting "Yes!" Who is with you? When you've achieved it who's the first person you have told? Remember visualise this as if you have already achieved it. The idea here is that you create a powerful automatic pathway in your subconscious that allows your brain to believe its already happened. That way when opportunities arise your brain is already programmed to be looking out for them and will ensure it flags them up to you. So get powerful with that visualisation - its a very important step.
- Question how you feel about your ability to achieve this goal. One of the biggest obstacles I see to my clients success is that deep rooted there is a belief that no matter how successful that woman already is, they are holding on to some experience or belief that says "I can't do this." "This won't work" "This is not something you are good at. "This will always work powerfully against you. So deal with that belief!
- List everything you could do to achieve that goal. This is not a list of what you will actually do, this is a list of everything you could do. The longer the list and the more powerful the answers will be. In my experience it's only when we get a list longer than 20 ideas that the good stuff starts to pour out. They do not have to be realistic ideas. On one occasion I had a client suggest the best way to get new clients was to stand a naked Marilyn Monroe model at the side of the road with a sign stating the clients company name to get more clients. A tad daft and dangerous (and not necessarily the right image for their business!) but ultimately it led to an idea that was really powerful and did work! So write everything down and let those creative juices keep flowing. And if its hard going and you have a blank piece of paper in front of you write down what you would do if you had a magic wand and it was automatic results you saw. This will get you going!
- Look back through your massive list of ideas and choose the most interesting ones to you. And ask yourself this "Have I taken this action before with 100% clarity of my intent on achieving my goal?" Come up with a plan of action but remember to keep it simple. It's better to put 2 things into action effectively than to attempt 10 and fail at 4. 2 successful ideas implemented will power you up to keep going and motivate you to your goal success.
- Look at your diary. A big issue that stops goal success is that we don't factor in that little thing called life. It may not seem that important that you have the dentist or your nephews birthday coming up. But these things can impact on your success. What could stop you taking action? Who may need your attention?
- Set a time scale to your actions. Be realistic but push yourself to achieve. Ask yourself "Have I been realistic in what can be achieved in my allocated time scale?" If that diary is packed will I actually take these actions? How will that make you feel if you don't achieve? Will that motivate you?
- Acknowledge your successes (they motivate you to do more!), learn from your failures (failure is only failure if you accept it as the final answer and don't learn from the experience) and ask yourself this question before you even take action today; "When I'm finding achieving my goal tough who and/or what can I turn to so that I ensure I remain motivated to achieving my goal?" My clients know that they can get in touch any time and I will reinforce for them, what they are achieving, why they are looking to achieve it and how they are going to do it. I will motivate them by retelling them times of great success that they have already achieved and remind them of how amazing they are. So ask yourself who will be doing this for you? Music, pictures, experiences, people can all serve powerfully so ask yourself what will you rely on to ensure you stayed motivated to your goal?
How nice of me to power up your day and your goal success.
Do let me know how you get on and if you are finding it a bit tough on your own, give me a call. xx

We all Feel Fear - Here's Mine!
Today here I sit waiting for the door bell to go.
Any minute now a photographer will be here to photograph me.
Why is that causing you fear Mandie?
You've been filmed for ITV1, Photographed for The Guardian, glossy magazines and appeared on the radio so many times some may think you are a DJ!
So why the fear?
Well not having been in the public limelight for over a year the new meds have given me a beautiful moon face and I've gained quite a bit of weigh. And I worry that people still think I look like this.
Okay so on the inside I SO am still this gal
Ok so people keep saying I look great and I'm very happy in my skin, its just there is a bit more of it than I'd like preserved for prosperity. But I've got over that. I did that by remembering all the amazing things I've done over the years in my own business and in helping others grow theirs and helping them over come their fears - that's a powerful way to power up the way you feel about yourself and no one need know, so its not a big head trip. Just a confidence boost.
So here I am smiling, nervous, but accepting those nerves are just nervous energy just bursting to perform at my best and ready for action.
I'm ready for my close up!
Any minute now a photographer will be here to photograph me.

And The Motivation Started With A Tweet....
Colchester Press asked us what we were up to today, and so I shared my day. And that led to them saying "But we all try!"
We then had a great chat about trying and it what that was good for, I thought I would share it here too. As its a real killer to your success rate!
You see here is trying as I see it.....
I'd like you to look at your surroundings and pick one item up. Go on, right now. See you had a goal, you focused on how to achieve it and you did it. That's doing. That's achieving what you set out to achieve. Now I'd like you to not pick an item up. Different approach, but the outcome is that you aim to not do something, you don't take action and nothing happens. And you get nowhere.
Right, now try to pick an item. Do you touch it? Go near it? Look at it? Push it? Pull it?
Ultimately what happens is you use up a lot of energy, a lot of time, a lot of thought and end up feeling like you haven't reached your goal which in turn leads to negative feelings of guilt and failure. Negative feelings will always work powerfully to stop you from achieving success today and in the future as it creates a powerful automatic path way in your mind that you don't even know you are accessing that stops your future success as well.
The word try is also a bit of a cop out (sorry folks but it is), We say try when we are not completely confident in our ability to achieve, now ask yourself what is that going to do to your success rate?
So try? A good word to include in your vocabulary for success?
Not at all.
Do or Don't do, its your choice.
