And The Motivation Started With A Tweet....

Colchester Press asked us what we were up to today, and so I shared my day. And that led to them saying "But we all try!"

We then had a great chat about trying and it what that was good for, I thought I would share it here too. As its a real killer to your success rate!

You see here is trying as I see it.....

I'd like you to look at your surroundings and pick one item up. Go on, right now. See you had a goal, you focused on how to achieve it and you did it. That's doing. That's achieving what you set out to achieve.

Now I'd like you to not pick an item up. Different approach, but the outcome is that you aim to not do something, you don't take action and nothing happens. And you get nowhere.

Right, now try to pick an item. Do you touch it? Go near it? Look at it? Push it? Pull it?
Ultimately what happens is you use up a lot of energy, a lot of time, a lot of thought and end up feeling like you haven't reached your goal which in turn leads to negative feelings of guilt and failure. Negative feelings will always work powerfully to stop you from achieving success today and in the future as it creates a powerful automatic path way in your mind that you don't even know you are accessing that stops your future success as well.

The word try is also a bit of a cop out (sorry folks but it is), We say try when we are not completely confident in our ability to achieve, now ask yourself what is that going to do to your success rate?

So try? A good word to include in your vocabulary for success?
Not at all.
Do or Don't do, its your choice.
